The best thing about Malaysia is the jungle. It’s cooler, there are rivers to swim in, and you don’t have to worry about animals or insects. Snakes are also very hard to sneak up on, if you make any noise at all. We go there to explore the rivers most weekends. It’s amazing and a privilege to be there. There’s nowhere like it in the world, and if you don’t try it, you've missed the best bit of Malaysia. Our son Leo has grown up in the jungle. There are sometimes places to camp close to the trailhead, and I often plan journeys around these spots. You can normally get your bike to these campsites because many of them are accessible by four-wheel drive.
