We live in Desa ParkCity which is a 20-minute drive Northwest of the centre of KL (not sure where the centre is?!?) and a roughly 50-minute drive from the airport.
We have several nearby swimming pools, so it’s a good place to chill if you’re tired. It’s a bit of an exclusive area, with supermarkets, restaurants and easy access to the cheaper kampongs just outside Desa ParkCity.
Scroll down for routes in and out of the city, for routes to bike shops, for cheap and recommended local food options, and a route that will get you to the centre on nice roads. A very large Decathlon is close, and you can order things from the Decathlon website and pick them up at our 'local' store when you arrive in KL
Getting to Desa ParkCity
Getting out of Desa ParkCity
Seri Bintang Hill - accessible by walking from our house. You can get great views of the area, and it's about a 2-hour return trip on foot
Bukit Kiara - a jungle area covered in running trails and mountain bike tracks. You can walk from our house over the hills and end up in TTDI The trails are all on Open Street Maps. If you follow the linked route to TTDI you'll end up on the Bukit Kiara hills. A good thing to do is walk there, eat at one of the restaurants and get a Grab back.
TTDI - a local area with good markets and a few bike shops.
